Been a while? 

Sorry I’ve actually been searching for something DOPE enough to blog about. 

So here we go iamOther, created in May 2012 by my “babes” Pharrell Williams, I think this was an amazing venture into social media and providing a platform for not only his work, not only the work of his artists but the work of many dope creative people. iamOther is for every dope person who feels they are not the norm; being proud of our differences kind of concept.

The reason I think this is such a dope platform is because it’s got nothing to do with glamorizing Pharrell or NERD or any of his mainstream brands (Billionaire Boys Club, Ice-cream…etc) It’s about presenting what’s dope to an audience of young adults interested in not only fashion but the media, society, art and music. I find myself especially interested in this series called “Stereotypes” its super dope and the presenter is HILARIOUS!

Also anyone else in love with Awkward Black Girl? Pharrell saw how dope Issa Rae (the creator) was doing and gave her a bigger platform moving the show onto iamOther and as a result helping push forward her movement and her dreams.

Pharrell illustrates to be heavily involved with the iamOther community, he is the head of state and every now and then will release a presidential speech. iamOther, a platform where in which the underground dope issues get highlighted. It’s only going to get better in my opinion and definitely more interesting. It’s not limited and it’s not a hype.
