I’m a massive podcast enthusiast—seriously, it’s a bit of an obsession.

This is a blog post I wrote back in 2016 on podcasts I was loving at the time.

So…my weekly podcast routine:

Monday: In the morning, I kick off the week with a #hotgirlwalk, tuned in to The Receipts Podcast (shout of them for adding an extra show this year) or Black Girls Livin’. But Mondays are really about Whoreible Decisions for me. I dedicate my lunchtime to watching the episode on Youtube. Early in my years of podcast listening, I listened to Guys We F#cked, no shade but I didn’t find it relatable. Funny enough, back in 2016, I even mentioned finding their viewpoints interesting… I just don’t think I was their target audience, haha. Discovering Whoreible Decisions, with two amazing Black women sharing their honest, raw dating experiences from their initial corporate days, just clicked with me. So much love for Mandii B and Weezy. I’m a proud #WHOREHIVE patron member, enjoying extra weekly content. I saw them live in London on Valentine’s Day last year with my boy Niche, and it was a highlight of my year; we sipped Rosé and laughed. I even got their autographs and framed them (I’m a sentimental babe) super excited for their London show this year.

Tuesday: Walk to the office listening to ‘See The Thing Is…’ with Mandii B from Whoreible Decisions and singer Bridget Kelly. I love the recurring guest Antoinette; I hope she knows her vulnerability is so appreciated.

**EDIT: A week after I posted this, “See The Thing Is…” announced the ending of their podcast. LOL, sad, but alas, things change.

I’ve added In My Opinion Podcast and New Rory and Mal into my rotation.

When it’s in season, I tune in to Closest Confessions every Tuesday. Candice drops so many amazing gems; she just inspires you to strive for better.

#ReceiptsWednesday: a regular episode of The Receipts Podcast with Tolly T and Audrey woo !

Thursday: Style and City Diaries with Prinny Rae and Amber Lou #cousins — I’m a patron member here too. The Dating Diaries patron episodes are so jokes; I appreciate the way they bring guests from the main show onto patron episodes to spill the tea. BIG UP my good friend Shakira, who styled them for the cover and introduced me to listening to them; ROOTING for her to go on the pod and share her fashion experience!

Friday: Another episode of See the Thing Is, with a focus on music in these episodes. I’ve discovered so many musicians and industry insights through this podcast, In the evening I listen to the ICONIC podcast The Read with Crissle and Kid Fury, it usually drops late evening Thursday UK time, but I save it for Friday. Been a listener since 2014 for those who know #smellandtaste and that Stevie J episode LOL. I truly believe Beyonce will let them interview her one day.

Saturday: Brilliant Idiots drops on Fridays, but I save it for my Saturday morning walk. I’ve been listening since they kicked off 10 years ago. If you see me out Saturday mornings laughing to myself, I am 100% listening to this podcast. Andrew Schulz can be too much sometimes, but I do enjoy him. For my birthday last year, my bro Mooney got us tickets to go see him live.

Sunday: Catch up with patron episodes, other podcasts, recommendations or episode I come across online when trying to understand more about a topic. Have You Heard George’s Podcast? UNMATCHED creative storytelling – truly mind-blowing 👏🏾🔥 and the Complete Developer Podcast, although no longer producing new episodes, was and still is a valuable resource for me as a software engineer.
