Jhené Aiko, the hype with this girl is crazy; I’ve decided to download her free mix tape on her website. I shall give my first impression I am currently listening to ‘Real’ now…because it was the first song that played when I added all the songs to my iTunes. Initial opinion…she sounds like a doper version of Cassie.

Well, Jhené seems to have been around for a while now, an American-singer song writer she’s 24 and has a daughter. Seems her career didn’t kick off until this year, she has been around for a long time though, as a song writer seems as if she had been working actively with B2K since around 2003 and I get the vibe now listening to her music that she is a DOPE song writer, like a NEYO!
Sailing NOT Selling (Feat. Kayne) – decent *listens more*, like the composition of the song, still think it sounds like a really good Cassie singing but I like the chill vibe. I think this is my favourite song LOVE IT….not feeling’ Kanye’s bit though but meh
I like the description of her voice on Wikipedia “She has a soft, skilful tone. Her vocal range is unknown.” This is so true! VERY TRUE, her vocal range is unknown and I think it makes her dope. It means her songs are more unexpected it’s not going to be that same expected voice, every song she changes it up and her lyrics are powerfully real. Aiko’s voice is a breath of fresh air, chill easy listening, I agree with the “hype”, she is a beautiful singer who illustrates to be very grounded and dope no ego, her music is a reflection of her; no façade.
